Dixie Chicks

My snow is melting.

The boys got the pasture all set up, gunna put the goats in it during the day, starting tomorrow after milking. dear Lord, I am a little worried... Poor things have never been in electric before.., .. So I am guessing they will both get shocked at least once.

take a moment and teach them it is hot so you know their reaction. Offer up a bucket with some feed when they come to the fence and get shocked you will be there to handle any emergencies. Also put up little flags so they can spot it.... yep they will eat em but they will last long eonough to teach em to spot the wire.

I see a lot of horse owners have like electric ribbon fencing, single strand, they put up orange ribbons hanging every so many feet, must be so they see it better?
Buddy of mine keeps pigs in electric fence that looks like string with wrapped thin wire probably a foot high? They never get out. They touch it once and they know where the fence is and stay clear.
I touched electric fence a couple times when I was a kid, not cool. Dare ya, double dare ya....
Ever hear that if you have a group of people holding hands and the first one touches the fence the last one is the only one that feels it? I remember grouping up when we were kids, bunch of us to try it, we chickened out Lol!

Yepp, touched the dairy cattle fence a few times.
Our dog's tail accidentally touched it once while on a walk with my brother. The dog refused to go walking with my brother for days after and it took me a year to convince him to walk down that path again. Ha-ha

Our electric fence for sheep iant that strong, but the sheep respect it when it's ON. Alaskan: that's the trick: have it on!

Except the stupid deer in this area still knock it down... Found my electric fence down this morning. I was thankful that she sheep hadn't spotted it yet or they would have been over at the neighbors again.

Don't put a trail cam by your coop to watch for predators and a wild pig when you have a wild free range cull....freaking hundreds of pics...Only checked the night time ones, very few and nothing.

I did get him in the big coop a couple days ago. He must have got sick of the weather the past week, freezing rain, 10 degrees at night, six inches of snow, decided to walk right in the big coop while I was feeding the girls, now he temporarily has a harem Lol!
Forgot about the trail cam until I had fox tracks going around the giant coop and run. I didn't even look at all the pics, just him and red squirrels.....
