Dixie Chicks

@WVduckchick, that was my 2nd time seeing them in concert. I don't go to concerts often. Maybe one a year or every other year, but I just love them. The last time I seen them, the cover band was Nickelback. No one had ever heard of them!! Oh, now I'm really dating myself. This time the cover band was a local band called Lamps and Voids. They weren't bad, but I was impatiently waiting for 3 Doors Down. :D

I remember when Nickelback became popular, I'd love to see both bands. Can't remember the last actual concert I went to. They've gotten so expensive.

I could really date myself by bringing up some of the old bands I saw, back in the day. REO, Heart, Kansas, Foreigner, Styx, etc, etc.... Ugh... Lol!

Predators leave mine alone knock on wood. This fall I'll be fencing in my whole garden area 70'x80' approximately using bird netting from Lowe's or Home Depot can't remember which I got it from. It comes in 7'x100' length, and cheap. Will be running a couple strands of electric wire around it for any stray dogs or predators. Only risk will be hawks.
Hi, have not written in a while. I got bird netting from WalMart online for 25 feet wide by 50 feet long for About $50. I have had better deals on ebay but that was a decade ago.

I'm using poultry netting right now for the top of the run. Plan is to use it for fencing and run electric fence around it for possible predators. Regular fence would be $$ to wrap all around my garden. I think I'll use the same as 1kluckychik, you can buy big rolls of 20lb test fishing line pretty cheap if you can find the cheap stuff. I think I have a couple big rolls somewhere used to use it to tie up matters.
Doubt I could find a big fishing net around here Alaskan, way to far from the coast. Being it's going to only be up from fall to late spring I don't want to dump to much $$, and I want to get a electric fencer anyway.

@Outpost JWB sounds like you all don't have any coon hunters in your area. Coon dogs are a rare thing to hear around here lately, still know a few that run them but more into running coyote now. If it was known that someone had a population of coon here they would be coming out of the wood work for sure.

@Cold Canadian so what did you decide on ripeness of sugar baby melons? I almost picked one today, stem still looks green and healthy so I don't dare.

Not a big fan of turkey 'bacon' either. I did love that Sizzlean stuff that was out yrs ago, similar to turkey bacon as it was chopped and formed but it was made with pork and beef.
I've made the same with a mix this one place sells for venison and it was good. Grind the venison and 20% PORK FAT, add the seasoning and liquid smoke unless smoking, let it set in the fridge over night in a baking pan about a inch to inch and a half thick to cure. Bake it according to directions, cool slice bacon thickness, I use a small meat slicer. Freeze or fry. Even better fried in a little bacon fat.

@Beer can actually DH thinks we have a neighbor one street over that has coon dogs. He thinks that is what happened for months here. The dogs were chasing the coons HERE:th. We would be sitting out back & you could here them very close, howling like they had a coon treed.

I am a coon hunter now:D
