Well we found the missing chick alive.

It is back with mommy. Here is the pic of the beak.

Aw Maxx, I'm so sorry that you lost one. As another poster said, please don't beat yourself up about this. It was an accident! I know you would never do something like that deliberately. I'm so glad that you did find the other chick and that s/he is now safely with Dixie.

I think the only hope you're going to have with the little cross billed little guy is to first find out what are the most common causes of this condition. If it's something genetic, you're tough out of luck. But, as someone else said, if it's an issue of perhaps a dietary deficiency, inclusion of additional vitamins and minerals might help to alleviate some of the condition. But, I'd do some research first. Who knows, in your search for a cause, you might even find some tips on how to treat it as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the little goober.

Kind of reminds one of little Tweeker, huh? (God rest his little soul) Anyhow, please keep us posted on the little cross bill and what you find out. And more pictures please!!! Must have more pictures!!!

I have some bad news. As I was saying in some other posts about the chick's cross beak, it is getting much worse. So we are going to ask my grandpa to kill it (wring the neck). Just thought I should give the update.
