Update on my cabinet cooler incubator. Eggs went into lockdown late last night(night of day 19) and today day 20 ONE chicks just hatched and 4 others have pips. I feel very confident in saying that the cabinet cooler incubator is accurate, reliable and a SUCCESS!!!

YAY!!!! If my internet was working right I would add an image that says PIC OR THEY DONT EXIST!

that one will be way too hot for your micro bator.

I would suggest http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-50mm-220V...559?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27d7b42b57

its meant to run on 220 so it will be just 60 watts on 110.

I attach it using one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-SINGLE-...=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item2331ff1b26

to a spacer (you could use several washers) to keep it off the fan. The clip is attached to the stiff wires exiting the element - not the element itself

I have had good success using the above in my bordeaux bator.

Use a 50mm fan http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SMALL-2...?pt=US_Computer_Case_Fans&hash=item485c4375fb with the 80mm heater element diaginally accross it.

install the device well above egg level so you dont get radiant heat effects from the heater element on the eggs

So you reccomend placing the heat source at the top of the bator. Should I use a wall with a gap for air circulation like if have seen in some cabinet bators? To separate/shield the heat source from the eggs.

That cooler is very small but appears tall - I would mount it on the side as high up as I could go.

if you put it on the side, configure it wil the fan about 1/2 in from all of the bator. I use #8-32 machine screws - I would put three through the holes in the fan to mount to the bator and one in the opposite direction through the fan to mount the heater element. I have nylon spacers but a couple of nuts or a stack of washers will do the same.

I am setting eggs for a friend as I live in an apartment when in Los Angeles. I will have to put the eggs in foam insite the bator, run it on a inverter in the car and transport them 2 hrs when I do my egg run for next trip

I have a crappy old Farm Innovators 2100 that I upgraded with a digital thermostat and a fan,

After pulling the chick killer thermostat and silly thermometer out of the top, my project box was a tad wide and short to fill the hole perfectly so i used a hard plastic lid of a storage container to make a plate to mount it on prior to attaching to the bator

from inside

verifying calibration in ice water prior to install
