DIY crumbles

I had some doubts about the commercial feed I was using and tried some feed from a local farm. Turns out, it is ground really fine. It seems that a lot of feed is being wasted. Can you make it into crumbles or something similar?

I was thinking of adding water and baking a thin layer in the oven, then crumbling. Worth it?

I suppose you could do that. It would be labor and energy intensive. You could get a feeder with deeper sides that makes it harder for them to throw it out. Even hanging the feeder at the smallest chicken's back height would help. Or you could wet a days feed and feed it to them wet. Some on here would suggest you ferment it.
