DIY electrolytes?

One of my chickens seems to be have watery poops. It's been hot and they eat a lot of grass, so I'm not too concerned yet (no sign of blood or worms), but I want to give them some electrolytes. When they were chicks I used Sav-A-Chick from the feed store. Has anyone used DIY electrolytes? Do they recommend or no? I found this recipe:
  • One gallon of water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Sorry if this has been posted before, the search forums function seems to not be playing nice with my browser right now.

The DIY electrolytes are fine, just make sure your flock has a source of plain fresh drinking water available as well.

Do make sure crops are emptying overnight, that they have a source of grit.

Photos of poop may be helpful as well. Watery poop is not necessarily "bad" especially in summer when weather is hot and the birds drink a lot of water.

Thanks for the tips! Maybe they're not getting enough grit because the plops were quite grassy, as in I could see a few blades of undigested grass. Will take a photo next time if I remember, although whoever had the plops seems to be better today.
