I have no fan and my temp stays wonderfully regulated. I have no way to measure my humidity but I see it and spray my eggs when I turn them. I have the heating pad covered with a dog pee pad and plan on moistening during the hatch. The sponge in the bowl seems to be doing the trick. Wish me luck cuz it's either incubator or the raccoon gets. The raccoon will not go in the trap. The ducks sleep in the chicken coop now.

I have a homemade incubator. It is a 13''x13'' cardboard box lined with foam. The 15w LIGHT BULB IS ON PIE PAN FOR HEAT PROTECTION ONLY! (please don't comment on water there. there is none.) I have a wire shelf that is raised above the bulb. Wire doesn't touch bulb.

I have card board fitted over the wire to block extra heat from bulb see below...more to come....

I've always liked the idea of a DIY incubator rather than a bought one. Just something about making your own project with your own ideas and watching it come to fruition that brings such enjoyment and accomplishment to one.

these are going in the incubator, plus one tan spotty one, not laid yet.

I added this pic as a view from above, I don't want more than this number of eggs, and even though it looks like there is room for more, I don't put my eggs right above the heat, the eggs are also not touching the sides of the incubator.
