DIY Thread - Let's see your "Inventions".

I'll see what I can come up with. Thank you.

I do like the flexible hose in the link I provided so I will add that into my build. I found nipples on amazon that will work for day old chicks on up. My local store doesn't have them.

I'm going to be building one tomorrow, I can take some pictures if you want.
It would be great if you could put that info in a new thread titled so it can be found easily in a search on titles.

I love these long threads, so much good info and fun to see, but it's almost impossible to find info in them at a later date....unless you have hours to page thru the whole thing.
Maybe someone knows a way to search them that has proven effective that I am unaware of?

I just search for keywords within the thread, or if it's a mega thread I open the picture gallery on the left and scroll through the thumbnails until I see what I was looking for.
That works great unless you are new, like me, to this whole keeping chickens thing.
I don't necessarily know what I am looking for, but will stumble across something like the waterer I found on Amazon and think I should be able to make that.

I wish I were building one or I would take step by step pictures. let me see if I can find a couple of links for you....

here you go

If you dont want to plumb it completely in PVC just get the connection out of the bucket then glue on a pVC male hose fitting. Then for the nipple bar use another PVC male hose fitting.

Then buy a hose for a washing machine.... They have female fittings on both ends.

Male ends are threaded on the outside.... female ends are threaded on the inside.

I have had very bad results trying to use the Female fittings made of pvc due to leakage.

Hope this helps,.
