A new water system will be implemented, with the new roof that's going on and a roof washer will be installed for the rain barrels that we'll be putting in (I can't remember who posted anything, sorry :/ ) We live in WA, so I'm sure that rain barrel will be full in no time
Compost tumbler will be made from the general picture that was posted (the husband has already figured out how he's going to change that so the kids can fill and spin. Child labor is the best!)
I'll be using feed sacks as tarps, making bags, and as a poop guard under the roosting bars (wish I had thought about that a year ago! So many have been thrown away without even thinking of possible uses)
We'll be building the soil boxes for a forage blend to be grow without the roots being destroyed (the screen over the box system that was posted a while ago). Someone posted a link to groworganic.com .....that's going to be a lot of fun, I really think the kids will enjoy growing and watching the chickens enjoy that this winter
And then we're contemplating this meal worm farm thing and possible fermented feed.
I think deep litter method has been mentioned here, we've already started that.
I think I'm going to use the PVC tube feeders that were posted here for goat feed. I'm trying to figure out the hay waste situation, but I think I have a solution for that.
As you can see, my husband will be super busy this winter
I'm the brains, he's the brawn of this operation!
