I'm planning a roof collection tank and gravity fed waterers.Combine that with an auto waterer and you can go on vacation for a couple of weeks!
Sounds like you may be interested in a spring weightI hang my waterers up, however they are the metal ones so you can't see through them to. I was thinking of putting a spring of some sort in the middle/top of the chain they hang from to be able to gauge how much water is left. So when it is full the spring is extended and when it is tight it is almost empty. Has anyone tried this?
I used an old pond liner (the hard plastic type) and once my new coop is built, I'm going to dig a hole for it so the lip is flush with the ground and my girls won't have to jump just to take a bath. Also, any dusting bowl, patch ideas?
I was thinking the lid of a big big?

But I'm reading it all today, and good advice has no expiration date.@Ladies-Eight Do you realize that the posts you are quoting and 'answering' are many years old and the people are long gone from the forum?
Thanks for reviving this! This may be old technology (I’m new here) but I made these holders for the chick sized water and feeder since I got tired of them being knocked over. It’s just a u-shaped piece of plywood’s with a hinged wire - works great so far. They will be replaced with bigger capacity ones once I move the chicks out of their temporary coop.
Good morning to you! 80 and sunny here right now.Inventers good morning one and all!
