So he comes home today, grabs the handcart/dolly and gathers some wood.

Proceeds to cut, build and let me know he'll be done in about a half hour or so...

Now we have a brooder, on chunky wheels I can move around the shop, garage and outdoors. Mini trough feeder for the FF soon. As well as a 2nd lamp :)

That's a cool re-use of materials, but I don't think I could bring myself to cutting up my dolly.

Incubating some eggs for the first time, my ducks are still laying like crazy (7 girls, 5-7 eggs each day) so I decided to try hatching a few. Was messing around with candling them, was going to make a shoebox candler that I saw on here, and came up with this easy but effective method.

The flashlight is shorter than the toilet paper roll so I can hold it all in one hand, plus you can move the toilet paper roll as needed to fit the egg on its end or side and get a good seal. For larger eggs the roll from paper towels would probably work well, for smaller eggs the toilet paper roll could be cut down.

I made mine from a water bottle. I cut the top of the bottle and attached it with electrical tape to not let light escape.

Finished up a coop today. Well, mine are never "finished"...Put a sliding door on this one to try it. :) and an automatic cup water system is going in this weekend to feed both this coop and one of the hoop coops. Wish us luck lol
