DIY Thread - Let's see your "Inventions".

I don't want to be your intern, I want to be your chicken! Lol.

Leslie treats her chickens very well but she already has a lot and ducks too. Choose the intern option, she also treats people well.

So simple yet ingenious. Now I need you to tell me how to uncut my PVC feeder so I can have a cool built in handle too.

My next PVC feeders for the meat chickens will have handles thanks to you.

I know this was a joke, but you got me thinking ... could you possibly use a straight connector ... cut the trough in half, and then glue each cut end into opposite ends of a connector piece?

We don't glue our PVC feeders as everything sticks together well enough and it is nice to be able to pull things apart if you want, but with a pipe cut into a trough you might need more grip.

I have spent the last three hours skming through this thread. Awesome ideas guys and gals! I'll have to post some of my feeders and DIY roosts out of yaupon from the yard. I swear that stuff never rots..

Not so much of an invention, more like a repurpose... I have an old covered cat litter box which is graciously used as an outside nest box. More often than not, they prefer it to their coop nest box.
Ya know, I thought about giving my girls an outside nest as well during the good months... Never did it, but did give them an old litterbox with DE and dirt for dusting... couldn't convince anyone to use it, even when it was winter and there was no way to get a god dust in. They much rather go dig huge holes to lay in all flopped out next to each other I guess!

you guys are all insane I just got on this website and all of these amazing designs are going to help me so much the redneck contraptions that are getting thrown together but works so well thank you everyone
