Do all drakes make this noise?

Oh my gosh its so funny - After mating, both my Runner drakes do a whistle followed by a deep throat grunt, then they run around the in the garden, while the girls quacking their heads off, dip and splash in the pool. my drakes also do that which yours is doing in the second video. Which ever one has mated will do the whistle grunt thing then both will run around together and they do that - what ever its called which yours is doing in the second video, and the girls after doing a couple of laps around their pool will join the boys running around then they get back in the pool for the second drake to do his mating then he whistles/ grunts, they run around etc etc etc. I have two drakes and two females, they are paired - they do this every morning and sometimes again mid afternoon. I call it their lap of honour - it reminds me of when footballers score a goal :gig

I want to get a guard goose. Maybe 2 geese (females) so it can have a buddy besides the chickens. Unless of course if having a buddy will mean that they'll gang up and harass the chickens. I need to do more research/reading. I haven't fully decided. If we do, I think I want Super African breed. I know my Luna is loud. Xena is loud but her quack is deeper and she just doesn't talk as much as Luna. I think if you have a lot of anything it can be loud. I don't mind the noise. I think I would like a couple geese. Not anymore than that tho. Shoot, I want goats and a donkey. Now donkeys are LOUD! I think that I'm gonna have a legit farm before it's all said and done with haha!
As a child growing up we had a donkey, they are the most beautiful ever. :love
Her name was Peppinella and she'd come when called just like dogs do :love

My Runner drake does the whistle after mating and he also does the what ever that is in the second video. It really hilarious, I had never seen that with my Muscovy drakes so was pretty surprised when my Runner did this stuff. Like oldhenlikesdogs said they are sure full of themselves.
Can I ask if your Runner flies? I was told Indian Runners can't fly but one of mine can and often flies across our garden (thankfully not far and never flies out of the garden) - the other Runner can't fly at all though.

I have a couple of American Buff geese, and as one of my friends says, "No one can sneak up on your house!" Mine don't really harass the ducks or chickens. But, sometimes I think they "herd" the runners, just for fun -- walking up slowly behind them and moving the parade along the way. Also, mine are going through a rebellious "teen" phase where they defy me about returning to their shelter at night. Until I lure them with a bit of cracked corn.

And, yes, donkeys are LOUD. When we had our two, we referred to them as "the donk alarm" because they could easily be heard from inside the house even with the windows closed.

That having been said, I would miss all the noises of life -- except maybe when the sheep and goats think it's taking too long for me to deliver meals and they all yell at once!

I had one up top on the hill behind our home fly over the fence and landed in the driveway. Only happened once though. Most of the time they just flap and run. I have seen posts where member had Runners that did fly.
I don't know how far or high he could fly if he wanted to go further than he does go but I'm more inclined to think he could go a fair way because he can fly up straight from standing just like flying ducks do and it is evident he is controlling how high and how far he goes. My two Khaki hens can fly too but thankfully none of them have any want or interest in flying out of the garden and tend to only fly to get to the treats faster than the others lol

Hello. In the first video the Hen let out a loud Quack because his penis penetrated and the Drake was just making a normal sound.
In the second video he is doing his Drake Call and showing off how magnificent he is to other Drakes and Hens.
Very silly Birds.
I wonder if you might answer a question for me - when a drake breeds the lower ranking duck (Aurora) the alpha female (Midnight) holds onto Auroras neck feathers along with the drake, then when he's done mating her, Midnight let's go and she and Aurora chatter happily while doing their own little celebratory swim and dance together and seem very happy together. There appears to be no sign of aggression or nastiness and Aurora seems perfectly fine with Midnight doing so and I'm just wondering why midnight holds her. Would very much appreciate your thoughts on this?
