Do all your chickens have names?

The Ameracaunas do, gold sex links don't.

There's Purple/Fabio (it varies
lol.png
) the roo, Red the roo
Pumpkin- only hen w/ orange legs
Itty-bitty- Always been the smallest but she's a real sweetie. Laid her first egg in my hand last night!
big_smile.png

Bella- was badly injured at a month or two, seperated for a while.
Gingerpye- a pretty, pretty orangey girl
Half-tail- formerly had only one tail feather

Poor girl, then that was pecked out. Her tail's now growing back out but the name'll stick.
Blackie- a sweet-tempered black pullet
Darkie- reminds me of a very dark blue wheaten with patterning

Shanaynay- Oh no...Don't ask.

Reddywhip- She's probably from the same hatch as Red...very pretty girl
Maisydaisy- black and white, looks almost EXACTLY like the next one
Einstein- Only difference from Maisydaisy is a beard and muffs...looks a little like good ol' Albert.

Togo- The Other Grey One, looks almost just like Shanaynay who was formerly Go (Grey One

)

Whew.
And there's 5 more that I can't quite think of right now.

They got names one by one, as they did something or looked different and made themselves stand out.

The gold sex links are pretty well identical.

I bet if we did a poll of how many people have a rooster named Red or some variation of the name Red it'd be alot!

I know I have a Red

He is a Wellsummer..love him to pieces!

I have 24. Not all of them have names because I can't tell them apart. All of my White Leghorns share 1 name.

Here's the ones that do have names:
Dominique roo: Lt Colonel Bok Bok
Blind BR: Tiny
Loud BR that follows me everywhere: Lucy
RIR with the largest comb (who the others will look exactly like soon): Red Robin
All 6 white Leghorns: Prissy
My 5 EE's are easy because they all look different:
Bertha
Turkey
Hottie
Purdy
Sweet cheeks

The rest all look alike and I just can't tell the difference.

Hey, 6chix, we had a White Leghorn roo named Whitey, too! My very favorite roo ever. Good name!

Yes, we have 36 chickens and every one has a name. Same reason; easier to refer to, and keep track of.

Buckbeak,Cookie, JackFrost, Bell, Razzle, Cream Puff, Ginger, Gretel, FriendHen, Hedwig, BokBok, Wishbone, Tidbit, Fuego, Squeak, Sandy, Pebbles, Diego, Diablo, Henrietta, Floppit, VanillaBean, Doormat, Millie, Snowflake, Dazzle, Checker, Raven, Brownie, Thing One, Thing Two, BeeBee, DeeDee, Bubbles, Uno, and Lil Dude.

28 hens, 7 roosters, 1 chick.

Most, but not all, have names -
GLWyan. - Henny & Penny
BR pullet - Babbette
BR Roos - CockeyLockey & Rocky (didn't think about the names rhyming when I named them!)
Americaunas - Barbie, Skipper, Scooter, Midge & Stacy
BO Roo - Henry
6 BO Hens - Simply known as "The Blondes" as I can't tell them apart. They are starting to look somewhat different now, so maybe I'll give them names - Marilyn, Mae - who are some other famous blondes?LOL

Mine all will have names, the easy-to-tell-apart did from the start like Cleo and Barabara (EE's). The "personalities' like Miss Henry and Emma gained theirs early on (RIR's). Some of the others got names via leg bands like Lilly and Carly. Still others, who wouldn't keep leg bands on, will get names as they mature enough to tell differences in combs etc. I am AMAZED at the differences in personalities and behaviors between chickens!

all of our guys have names except the white/grey frizzle cochin and the blue silkie hens...they are new and we havent named them yet. Otherwise all of our girls have the names my son gave them. I wanted to call our duck DUMBA** since its not the sharpest tool in the shed but i cant have my 6 year old repeating that!!!!!!!! so its called daisy instead.

Nope, I can't tell them all apart. The ones I can distinguish have names. My three whites ones are named Betty, Bess, and Babs, but I don't know which is which...

I might get them leg bands so that I can tell who's who.

I have all of them named. If you point out one of them i can tell you the name, but i cant remeber them all to list them here. Rocky and Bulwinkle are my two barred rock roosters though. All of mine look different even though some of them are the same breed. Or atleast they look differnt to me. I can tell them apart....
My eating chickens were all named too, which helped me remmeber that they were "eating chickens" and not pets. A few of the names were baked, nugget, fries, patty, fried, crispy... ect..
