Do any of you have multiple coops?

Ummm.....one 4X4 with enclosed, covered run, & 2 A-frames, a 3X3 coop and a 2X3 coop in a fenced pen for my silkies, one 6X6 also covered and enclosed and an 8X10 shed, both for my large birds. I also have a lone silkie chick in the house waiting for his 25 new buds that will arrive in 30 days; all the babies will be in the "chick cave" in the basement until March or April. (DH doesn't know it yet, but we're building in the spring)

ok i just had to go measure ( and i didnt realize how big already...)

i started with a rabbit hutch 9X2.5 and 4 pullets...
the rabbit hutch is now the community nest box... with a 12 X 7.5 ft open air coop built around it - under the hutch in a separated area i have two 3mo pullets...going to build a 10x 5 run attached for more room! (they free range almost all day anyhow, but i may need it to build another coop onto the other side?? lol**

)

then i got 5 month old chicks sooo i turned an old 5X3? dog house into a mini-coop with a 5X3 removable run which gets moved around the front yard..

im up to 18 and now have a broody on 16 eggs!

so she needed a new place and last night she was moved into the new broody pen...

i guess thats 3ish?

What a beautiful clean design for a coop! I love those.

My hubby made up the plans in his head. I just love these. Yeah, he's a keeper.

We build all our large pen frames out of PVC pipe covered with chicken wire or hardware cloth and heavy vinyl netting on the tops, with gates and hinged openings wherever needed, using bungeed tarps for movable shade/windbreaks. They attach to the houses but easily detach and move anywhere in the yard we want to move them for a change of scenery/grass/weather. Right now, they are up closer to the house for the winter as we are top of a hill and get some awful wind, and if there IS any sunshine, they would be most likely to get it there. In the Spring, they go out under the trees.

But when we get rid of that pool...I am thinking of getting a yard barn and converting it into a chicken coop. After awhile, everything starts looking like a chicken coop!
