do bantam chicken eggs actually hatch early

In my experience, not vast, but a number of hatches, my bantams always hatch early! I just hatched a different breed chick and that chick hatched on the evening of the 19th day. I went into lockdown early because I pretty much expected it and actually I think I should have gone into lockdown earlier because the one egg got shrink wrapped when I removed the turner and got the incubator set up for lockdown, it turns out it was internally pipped already and the drop in humidity as I did all the lockdown stuff basically killed it!!

I have only got experience with d'Uccles, cochins, ameraucana's, silkies and mixed breeds and those all hatched early for me. Some in the incubator and some under broodies so it wasn't the incubation temperature that caused it...

My Japanese Bantams hatch on day 19 so far. I've got some that are supposed to go into lockdown on Wednesday and I am toying with going early. The last ones had pipped on day 18 before I realized it. But they did fine.

Sarama will absolutly hatch at 19 days. All other bantams I've hatched run 21...with the exception of Japs...they tend to come a bit early as well...I assume the Jan ancestry in the Serama is where they get it.
