I have 2 hens and 1 rooster Black breasted reds. They were born the begining of june. The hens are laying regularly well at least one egg per day. The rooster is at least trying to breed but will it take this time of year and how would I know?

Yes they will breed. If you incubate or the hens set just candle the eggs after a few days and see if they are growing.

I'm getting fertile eggs from my banties. Look for the "bullseye" spot when you crack an egg open.

Mine are laying fertile eggs. The weather doesn't seem to bother them much and we've already had a freeze for a bit here. Though the poor hen chose a poor time to moult, silly thing.
