Do chichens have an acute sense of smell?

Anyone know much about this? DH had an idea for ‘bomb sniffing chickens’ in a short story or, hey why not, a screenplay. This man is in love w/ chickens, I guess. He wants to make 'em movie stars.

Do they smell well?

I always wondered about this. I switch the nest boxes around from time to time and they always go back to the same one, regardless of where it is. I was wondering if it smelled different, because they all look the same as far as I can tell.
