Do chicken eggs need to be turned?

If you eggs are under a broody, she will turn them.

the hen should take care of her own eggs. If in a bator with no turner then turn them every 6-8 hours. this prevents the yolk from settling to one side and sticking to the shell. If in an egg carton or in the bator I have seen people just tilt the whole thing. Putting a brick or something under 1 side then moving it to the other every 6-8 hours. If the eggs are loose in the bator becareful of the eggs sliding into each other.

Good luck and God Bless!

Setting hens are natural incubators and they know what to do. Best hens to set are Silkies and Cochins from my experiences.

I've read somewhere that a hen turns her eggs on average 26 times a day.
