Do chicken's combs shrink during cold weather?

I've noticed in my hens that some of their combs either get lighter in color, shrink smaller, and droop down. It's only some but it also happens randomly like one day their comb looks pretty and the next it's dropping or smaller. there healthy by the way so none are sick if that's a concern.

They also shrink down when they're not laying, which coincides with winter as well.

I use it every winter , but my state has a low temp of like, 18 degrees
