Do chickens eat ticks?

Yes they are LOUD. Anything in site moves and they get louder! If you have close neighbors they may not like you anymore.

Some can be aggressive in a coop. Ranging they tend to leave other birds alone.

My husband and I always joke and say that if one of us were to drop dead in the coop, we'd be eaten by the chickens!!!
My observation so far is they will eat anything they can fit in their mouth.

I have guineas and chickens together and haven't had any problems. Our guineas were hatched out by a broody hen and were raised right alongside our flock of chickens. They range together and they all go into the same house at night to roost. The only time we did have a bit of problem was when our alpha male guinea got killed by a hawk. The other males went absolutely nuts for a few days, chasing the hens (chickens) lower on the pecking order. After about two days my Dominique rooster put the smack down on the guineas and they left his hens alone, but it was a couple more weeks before the guineas worked out their new pecking order among themselves. Now the guinea hen (Yes, we only have one, grrrrrr, coyotes.) has selected a new mate and everything is calm in the flock again. The guineas are wilder than the chickens, and you have to be really consistent about herding them into the chicken house every night or they'll start roosting in the trees and be more vulnerable to predators, but other than that, no problems with our mixed flock.

My rooster LOVES to eat ticks! He is amazing at finding them too...used to think it was just guinea hens that did that, but I guess that's a common misconception. He free ranges around a horse pasture and finds tons of ticks that have dropped off the horses....ewwww! I think it is disgusting, but it definitely is helpful:)

I dont have much experience with guenea fowl but I do know they are extremely annoying!

They are loud and just squawk constantly. No offense to you guenea lovers, but theyre not my thing...However, they are good at killing bugs, and harrassing chickens.
