So today I went out to my chickens and a couple of them had little white flakes on their feathers. It looked a lot like dandruff. I was wondering if that is normal and if not, what can I do about it. Thanks!

Yea perfectly natural. You can brush them with a soft brush if it bother's you. They usualy take care of it themselve's with natural grooming. It will all come off eventualy.

If you raised them indoors, you know they can be VERY dusty, and that is what you are seeing.

I kept them inside for a couple weeks when they were still getting all their feathers. VERY dusty haha

Im glad they are outside now! Thanks for all your help!

I am so thankful for this site. I saw dandruff on my baby chicks today, and about freaked out! Oh! no! mites or lice!!! I see them preening all the time, so they are working on it! They are all getting new feathers, so we are seeing some chicken dandruff. We are good! Thank you BYC!
