Do Chickens Get Married?

Pics
Sideline: 20 eggs, 10 blue Blue Americaunas, and 10 pink Blue Laced Red Sebrings. Hatching now, 8 are out, 5 last night. 40% so far... I expect the blue eggs will be roosters and the pink eggs will be hens...

Love Heart now about a week away from her clutch hatching. We will be prepping a brooder capable of supporting both her and the brood for the first few days if it gets rainy. Otherwise, she will be out and about most likely in the woods south of house where they have cover with lots of eats.
Any precautions to be taken for keeping hatched chicks from falling out the 'crow's nest'?

i saw this thread a while ago and then, if as on cue, one of my americaunas (not sure on spelling) went broody. soooo im getting a rooster tomorrow and going to try something similiar. right now i have 40 some chicks but i wouldnt mind a couple more so i thought this would be a lot of fun.... ill put a thread on when i put them together in a couple of days or so and hopefully ill get some more chickens.... cant wait to watch this thread for more!:wee

We now have a pair of Aseel games. If they do not kill each other today, then a pairing will be run with them too. I am running out of the shorter t-posts. My kids are really getting into this stuff. My son has launched a study on mice in the barn. He got tired of dogs eating the mice he found so he built a mouse house and placed it up on a work bench. We also found a mother vole tractoring around her pups attached to her teats.

And we are trying to spawn a pair of black bass in a big tank. Male is holding a territory which kids can clearly see. He has not started digging yet. I will give him a nest tomorrow if they have not spawned yet. Female is getting very ripe. Complication is he is a Largemouth Bass and she is a Spotted Bass.

Love Heart still has 9 eggs. She kept eggs and nest dry despite driving rains yesterday.
