So the next question is: do roosters recognize their own chicks? Or do hens?I said children, not chickens, lol.
Both sexes can recognize chicks belonging to their social group. So the next question is: do roosters recognize their own chicks? Or do hens?
So far they haven't been mixed I hatch them and raise them in a brooder 4/8 weeks. They just see each other through the fence. Both sexes can recognize chicks belonging to their social group.
Mine cannot recognize offspring when raised that way. Mine recognize offspring when raised in natural social groups. They recognize all chicks hatched into group as members, regardless of genetic background. So far they haven't been mixed I hatch them and raise them in a brooder 4/8 weeks.
