Both sexes can recognize chicks belonging to their social group.

So far they haven't been mixed I hatch them and raise them in a brooder 4/8 weeks. They just see each other through the fence.

Mine cannot recognize offspring when raised that way. Mine recognize offspring when raised in natural social groups. They recognize all chicks hatched into group as members, regardless of genetic background.
