Do chickens get rashes?

I was at a lady's house yesterday looking at some birds. Several had a red rash on the inside of their legs. It looked like poison ivy does when it is healing after all the boils are gone. Any Ideas?

Like human skin, the flesh of birds reacts to plant toxins and also to parasites. Not sure what those birds have, but, yes, could be!
