Do chickens kill and ear small birds

[Mid Wales chicken keeper]

Hi all Rocky my black rock was running around the field this morning with a dead small bird in her beak, the other two chickens were running after her to get a piece of the action. My question, do you think she caught and killed it, or maybe just found it.

I think it would be hard to catch a bird, so I am guessing she found it dead or injured. I've seen mine kill mice and snakes.
