Do Chickens Like to Get Into Water?

A internet search found the above recipe. Also said can use Gatorade but do so very limited as more sugar and salt than is generally good for chickens. But in an emergency it’s better than not doing anything.

I’ve got a lot of panting and wing holding out going on so if I see that tomorrow I’m going to add some of the homemade mix into the waterers. Today was a little cooler and a storm blew thru (didn’t rain though darn it) and that was refreshing while it lasted.

Is sav a chick different from poultry vitamins? Do you syringe it or add to drinking water? It’s been hot here already and it’s early days yet. I’m looking into all sorts of things to help keep them cool.
Thanks, @igorsMistress ... I understand that this product is the chix equivalent of GatorAde. What I'm wondering is, if I don't have Sav-A-Chick on hand, can I use GA *instead* without harming my fowl? I always have GA on hand but my nearest feed store is 35 miles away, one way. Thanks.
I would use the chicken stuff, just buy a few packets to always have one on hand. I only mix up about half gallon for a flock of 15-20 and put it out in an open waterer(regular water is nipples here) always have plain fresh water available at the same time.
You can mix up smaller amounts(fresh every time) and store the partial powder packet tightly sealed in a cool dry place.

Yes, this is what I use.
Other then high temps, what else is it used for?

Some of that will be the dirt and sand she gets on her beak whilst she’s foraging and it washes off when she has a drink.

We got a weeper soaker hose and attached it to the roof. When you turn it on just the tiniest amount, it’s like a gentle rain. My girls weren’t that interested in it last summer but when we first got it, my oldest girl dug herself a hole right under it and sat there for about 20 minutes, covered in mud! :lau
