Do chickens naturally perch to sleep? Mine won’t

We added a frame on the bottom for support and wheels to turn it into a movable/“tractor” design.

I'm sorry but you are not going to fit 10 birds in that. You will have a lot of problems if you try.

x3. And manufacturer claims it holds 18? Would that require stacking birds on top of one another, maybe 3 birds high?

It's interesting how chickens are territorial when it comes to perches. the original hens didn't let the young hens roost inside the henhouse without bonking them on the head.

Those young hens perch on the roof instead. Now have two younger hens that I tried to place inside the henhouse, no go. The young hens wanted to go on top of roof, the middle hens didn't want the younger hens there.

So now I am looking to build a separate roost for them. Chickens are pecking order & territorial in their flock, go figure.
