Do chickens playfight?

Usually it's a dominance thing. As long as she is not overly aggressive. I raise White Leghorns too. I have one that is the queen and every once in awhile she will let one know who is boss but she hasn't hurt any of the others. Again, good luck...

I have 8 black ameracaunas, two lavender ameracaunas and 4 barnyard mixes in a separate coop and run. All are 6-8 weeks old. They spend most of their free time (not actively feeding or sleeping) by jumping at each other, chasing and play fighting, jumping on top of a milk crate then leaping down on top of another bird, etc. This may be the start of establishing their pecking order but they look like they take turns on who's chasing who. The four smallest birds, the mixes, also do this amongst themselves but avoid those games when the biggies are playing.
