Do chickens stop laying in the heat?

The heat has made mine inconsistent. We will have a few days of great production and then only get one or two eggs a day. We hit 107 here yesterday. It seems like the black sex links have slowed down and they used to lay everyday. They are also the largest and darkest of my chickens.

When the heat hit the high 90's in the past week, our production slowed from 8 to 9 a day to 5 per day, but yesterday the heat dropped a little---to the 80's, and production was back up to 8 and a shell-less egg.

As someone else already posted, depends on the breed.
My LF brahma are laying better with our high 90s (heat indexes of 105+) than they did in the spring. In fact, according to my recordkeeping they are laying better now than they did last year (their 2nd summer) at this time. They are now 2 years and 3 months old. Wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that it's said LF brahmas are not fully grown until two years old.

I have noticed that when the humidity is really high here then we have fewer eggs. That is out of my 18 hens that give me my eggs to sell. I get only 8-9 some days then if I notice that the humidity is lower I get more eggs from them. We have 6 5 month old buffs that have been laying small first eggs for about 3 weeks now and they are just starting to lay the bigger eggs for me. So I do think the heat just like the cold matters. And we are still in the middle of our hot season here in Florida.

Well it has cooled down but I don't have too many more eggs yet. About half the normal production. I do see two are broody, so that is part of it, but they still are not laying as often as normal. A couple were odd-colored, too.

My girls are laying fewer eggs that are also smaller than they used to be. It's 105-110 here in the day, with the nights being in the mid 80s. My chickens just lay in the shade and pant all day.

It gets hot here to between 104 - 107 degrees

mine the ones that are at laying age are laying every day. But I do not offer corn to them while it is hot. Some breeders that i have talked to said that corn is a hot feed and will make chickens stop laying during the summer.
