do chickens talk back ?

Mine talk to me one is very vocal sounds like she is saying hello so funny and cute she follows me around to she would come right into the house if I would let her.
Does anyone know how to edit my page where it has all of my chicken listed when I first joined? I want to update that.

The same thing happens to my chickens too. Whenever we have a bowl, they know that there is food in the bowl so they start running like Usain Bolt and they just can't wait for the food. But I think they are more excited when we give them the mealworms.

My Barred Rocks, Pepper and Oreo, talk to me every time I go into or even near their coop. It's actually hilarious! I think they are telling me about their day and how much they missed me because they follow me around and just chatter the entire time I am out there with them. I also have Easter Eggers and they do not talk, they just follow me. My flock is 18 weeks old and I have had them since they were 3 days old, so I am guessing they all bonded with me. I love it! :love
My new Red Hampshire comes to speak to me when I go to them and also, if they've been let out and I'm in the garden, from time to time she comes back from whatever she's been doing and tells me all about it! If there is a problem she comes to find me eg when the coop door had somehow closed so they couldn't get in, she came to find me and take me back to solve it.

I always come out and tell them good morning and ask how they’re doing. I chat with them all the time. They start pacing and clucking. I have one hen that once I go in, she jumps up on my back, every day!

I definitely think they talk back to you!

I love it when they are young and do a little chirpy sound. But chickens grow up so fast! All of my girls are so loud now. Esme in particular screams as loud as she can, She picks at me when we are having a conversation. My flock live in a fenced in area in my yard but Esme likes to fly over the fence and hang out in mine or the neighbors back yard. She sometimes doesn’t make it into the coop at night so I have to check on her every night. 29121FAB-B4D8-478C-9373-FEFD249C4E97.jpeg B4FDD18A-8A7A-4F71-B65D-FFC9595D1AC0.jpeg

I love this thread!!!

I go out and chat with mine all the time, and they coo, cluck, and quietly braaaaaawp back at me. I mix up repeating the mellow sounds back to them and speaking to them normally and they seem to really like it. They follow me everywhere, and as others noted, it's not about food (at least not all the time). I think they genuinely like the company and enjoy seeing me. And everyone thinks I'm crazy when I say "I'm going out to talk to the chickies". Oh well....
