do chickens talk back ?

I am convinced pullets ‘talk’ (or talk back) to me. Two of my bielefelders, Livvy and Sweets, follow me whenever I’m out and about. Sweets gives a very cute quiet chirping and will answer when I talk to her. She will jump to a perch to get closer and look me in the eye as we ‘talk’. She is like a dog, always near. Livvy is much louder with a long crescendo rapsy rrruuuupp rruup rup sound…actually several birds do that, but she’s another shadow.
I have one light brahma pullet that growls! I often retort back with ‘go lay an egg grumpy’

My whole flock of Bielefelder's are like that, including the rooster. One of the hen's won't move until I pet her on the back.

I like to think she's telling me a story, so our conversation is something like "Hi, Toast!" *cheep cheep cheep* "Oh, goodness. Tell me about it!" *cheep cheep cheep* "Oh, really?" *cheep cheep* "Well, what happened after that?" *cheep cheep cheep cheep* "Uh huh, what did you think about that?" *cheep cheep cheep* "Oh wow, and what did you do next?" *cheep cheep cheep*

One of the noises my ladies make is a cross between "whoo" and "coo." So I make that noise back to them.

Mine do, especially the older they get. They full on run to me when I hope the back door.

Guess she's always having a bad day, as she's generally talkative. It's enough that she irritates the rest of the flock at times, and they'll start pecking her to shut her up.

Yeah,I have a couple of silkies that never shut up,I find if I interrupt them they listen then add their opinions.love it actually,family think I'm bonkers

I speak to ‘mi chicas bonitas’ in Spanish. Its funny but when ‘my pretty girls’ here me talk in Spanish they talk back way more than when it’s just English. Knowing my birds they are probably just laughing at the gringo.

I have a few girls who are big talkers. I think it's mostly cussing me when I don't have snacks, but sometimes I will get the cute good morning chatters. My sapphire gem likes to sit with me anytime I'm relaxing outside. She usually gets comfortable near me and we will chat. Its kind of interesting how they listen and then chatter back. Maybe in some universe we can understand each other.

My daughter takes care of our hens. I refer to her as the chicken whisper. I have seen a chicken argue with her. I have seen her get on her knees and call a chicken over to her and the chicken walked over. She is amazing.

I know this may sound weird but do chickens talk back or talk with us? whenever mine see me (the ones that i raised from when they were baby chicks not the older ones in the flock) walk up to me and start making small clucking noises and look at me and like tilt their head or if I talk first they reply and they come up close and look at me and sometimes try to eat things off me or rub their beak on me or sit across me and do small clucking noises I can’t tell if this is normal for chickens or if they’re communicating something but advice would be super helpful ty the cockerels do this too not just the pullets if that helps
