I have no idea how many guineas are laying, the most I got so far was 6 eggs....but that day, only 5. Not to say he hasn't been back, I just didn't put the cam back up yet
Guinea eggs are smaller then regular chicken eggs. They are really hard though, but so are chipmunk teeth I imagine.
There are way too many chipmunks to trap. I wonder if I let the dog pee up there if it would keep them away? That scent shouldn't bother the guineas, they're used to her. We live in the middle of the woods, so wood critters are just everywhere! I can't imagine he's after seed or food, that's all about an acre away. Must be feathers. They made this nest in a big pile of sticks that was here when we bought the place. I checked that pile for nests 20 times last year and they never used it! lol This year it must have looked better somehow. Silly birds.
Guess I'll just stick the cam back out and keep an eye on him.
