I read somewhere that Problems with toes, extra/missing/misshapen is a common birth defect in birds when they are bred too closely within a "family" (ie. siblings bred with each other or a parent bred with one of it's own offspring).
You should not be concerned about it if the bird is eating, drinking and able to walk around just fine. Just be warned taht as it gets older, the toe will get bigger and you may have issues with her "catching" it.so just be careful to watch them and treat with ointment as needed
I have several chicks that look like that one that are 2 weeks old..their wings are a bit longer than your birds so I don't think he's any older than 2 weeks. I think you might have a red cochin.

Many chicks have spur buds where the spurs will eventually develop on the males. Just like human babies all have nipples. Spur buds have no implication towards the chick's gender.
Hatchery birds often have some mixed breeding in their backgrounds. However, it is fairly unusual for a 4-toed breed to have 5 toes. Much more likely the other way round. Menaing that it is likely one of hte 5-toed breeds. Definitely not a silkie. WIthout a crest it is not a houdan or sultan, either. That leaves faverolle or dorking. Dorkings do not have feathered legs, as this one appears to, so my guess is faverolle.

The 5th toe is perfectly fine and will not cause problems. It is NORMAL. It is NOT a deformity. Technically it is called a mutation. Basically, most birds carry a gene that specifies 4 toes. This particular bird has a different variation (mutation) of the gene that causes a 5th toe.

I agree, it's a mutation called polydactyly. I knew a person with it. Although it can also be a result of inbreeding. Definately NOT saying my friend was inbred though.
I'd be shocked if it were a D'uccle, mine all have leg feathering, and they're not especially impressive quality. I've never seen clean legged D'uccle. It's a cutie, whatever it is!

If you look closer (pic is not getting a good side) but the chick Does have featherd legs.....and besides the Deformity...it looks kind of like my RED COCHIN did when it was small
Here are baby pics and pics of her up ti now...which she is now 5 weeks old
I would like to thank everyone for their replies. I will update the pics in a couple of weeks, so we can keep guessing. I am starting to lean toward the cochin, but yours does not have the black dots on the wings that mine has. Again, Thank Yall very much!!
