Do ducks need vaccines?

They are not necessary, but they are advised. I don't vaccinate by ducks, but commercial hatcheries like Metzer Farms do. It is just to protect them from salmonella or other disease.

I don't know. I have been wondering if it is needed. My dogs, child and horses all needed vaccines. I didn't know what the general rule of thumb for ducks is.

I think in a back yard flock where they are kept in good conditions [not crowed or nasty] they would not need to be vaccinated, places like factory farms where their live stock is over crowed YES .I've been keeping ducks almost 10 years this coming June and never had a problem with any of them getting a disease. They are very hardy if taken care of.

My 6 Welsh Harlequins will have run of my yard once they are grown. They are treated like beloved pets and we are doing the best to give them everything they need. So I guess I will not be vaccinating.
