do easter eggers lay blue eggs

i have 3 EE's (hatchery) and we get a pale blue-green (like seafoam?), a mint green and one that is a light olive color! SO FUN! I would love one that lays blue eggs, and we would love a dark olive egger someday. We REALLY enjoy our EE's and they really thrive in our free range set up.

Fascinating! I bought these for blue eggs, because I didn't know "olive" eggs existed, but now my husband and I are really hoping that one of the three will be an olive egger. What color is your EE that lays the olive egg?

Thanks for this fun discussion! I have one 22 week EE and now I feel like I'm waiting for the prize from a cracker jacks box.

I want some! But.....I am having NO luck finding any here in Mississippi. And I really need some at the age that can handle the temps that are coming soon. really didn't want to have to wait til spring to get any. I do have a trade set up for Americauna(SP)? eggs to hatch when I get a broody.

You sure about that?

Try looking in Craigslist, but don't look for "Easter Egger" - Look instead for "Americauna" or "Americana" chickens - Chances are there's people selling EE's under false claim. Few people out there sadly are aware that what they have are not what their hatcheries/feedstores told them they are.

i've been checking CL for ages...for all breeds.
Just to add...I had found some, but not close. They are all on the other side of the state, lol.
And the one time i did find some locally. it was the County Sheriff, right at election time. And we just didn't have an occasion to meet up. i called him again later, and am still waiting on a callback, lol.

It's either that, get hatching eggs, or wait til later.

I usually travel more than 2 hours' drive for nearly anything.

I'll wait till one of the girls goes broody b4 i'll drive that far. All i will have to do is drive a few mins. to get eggs from the friend.
It's like George Clooney stated in the movie "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou". In a geographical oddity...three days from everywhere, lol.

My EE girl with the blue earlobes is laying blue eggs.

She's brown with a light brown/gold neck. No muffs or beard, just pea comb.

Of course, so is another one who doesn't have blue earlobes.

Exciting!!! Now I need the last one to lay green so I have some of those. So far, I get pink, blue, dark brown, cream. It's Easter every day.
