I have an EE hen who was laying green eggs for months when she first started laying. Then I stopped getting green eggs so I thought she had stopped laying though she never went broody....she just seemed like she had a light molt. It has been at least 3 months since I have seen a green eggs among the other white and brown eggs in the nest. Ive seen my EE on nest as if to be laying and Ive found brown and white eggs in the nest I spotted her in but no more green eggs. Im not sure if she started laying a different color egg or if she is not laying at all and those other colored eggs are not hers. Has anyone ever heard of a hen changing the color of egg she previously laid? There has been no change in her diet or her living situation only that some roosters have had to be removed to keep the numbers of them down. That is the only change I can think of and I didnt think that the roo she might mate with could in any way determine the egg color she laid....can it?
