Do eggs always move or wiggle prior to hatching

I had one little egg move on day 19 and 20, tonight starts day 21, it isn't moving, none of the other eggs have moved (or at least we have never seen them). The one moved a lot. I'm getting worried that something went wrong, or can this be normal. These are silkies, humidity possibly too high, running 60 to 65 the last few days since lockdown. I'm hopeful to get surprised overnight or tomorrow. We have a number more eggs in our other incubator, 1 week from lockdown, if these got messed up, hopeful to change it for the next group. We have 2 incubators, the cheaper foam type. The one has a turner. Also, I see some people keep them standing up in crates for hatch, is this better?

I have never seen an egg wiggle until the chick was actually pipping - just dont spend that much time watching.

Some move and some don't. I thought all of our last clutch were quitters until they just started pipping externally. Most didn't even peep when they'd pipped internally...which is weird. In any case, nope - they don't always rock. Sometimes they'll just pip and hatch.

I will tell that with Silkies, and my experience with them - they are not an easy chick to hatch successfully. I've had far more luck with the breeds that are hardy and massive than I have with Silkies. But - I would not recommend hatching out of egg cartons for silkies. They're just so little and frail looking that I wouldn't like them having to fall from the egg carton and splat on the mesh tray below upon hatch - not a nice way to greet the world (kind of like a baby getting slapped in the butt). =/

Your humidity sounds fine as long as it's 60% or higher for lockdown. What has the temperature been at?

average 99.5 to 100, this is my first time, just trying to learn all of this, driving me crazy, I thought you just turn everything on and go, boy was I wrong, and it scares me reading everything on this site, hope they are still alive. The other bad part is that I have other eggs staggered and need to put them in the "lockdown" incubator, never thought about adding each new egg daily, as they were laid, OOPS! I've created a big mess. All were fertile, only lost a few to red ring of death. Now I hope I don't lose 20+ little ones.

I have just done the same thing as you by adding eggs on different days. My first one is due to hatch April 1st. Fingers crossed here!
