I have a Toulouse female who has laid 6 eggs and is sitting on them during the day (outside) - she is going into the goose house at night but is getting reluctant to do so - I am happy to re-house her and her male partner from the rest of my flock BUT I was told that they only lay eggs in the Spring...so do we have a problem here in France??? Global warming or the Volcano in Iceland??? Please somebody tell me is it normal for a goose to lay eggs this late in the year?

Thanks

One of my females laid a clutch last fall and they hatched in the freezing cold. It's not a common occurence but definitely can happen

Thank you both for your replies - there have been some confrontations between my geese and pehaps they think it's Spring!

I need to show them a calendar!

I will house my female somewhere safe with her clutch - can't leave her outside at night as there are so many predators around.

My goose laid really late and all of them died under her because it was so cold and she left them out when it was cold!
