I know that hens can go broody anytime, however are the chances of broody higher in the spring time?

I have 8 hens (BA, 2 EEs, NH, Cochin, Sex Link and Dutch bantie and Millie D'Uccle bantie). 2 roos (black cochin bantie and silkie). I've cracked a few eggs and I've seen bullseyes.

I'm so jonesing for a broody girl to do the hard work for me. :)

Yes, broodiness is most likely to happen in the springtime. One of our Cochin banties went broody twice last year, once in the spring and once in autumn. This is because the weather during these times offers the eggs a higher chance of hatching, making the chickens broodier during these times.

X2, they do go broody more often in spring. I think that's why they're called "Spring Chickens".
