Do I go big, or go small?

I've ordered some chicks from Meyer, and I added a silver penciled rock pullet to my order coming on May 3. I checked again, and the dark Brahma is now available for that week as well. Both look similar, very pretty penciled pattern, and now I'm stuck between the dark Brahma and the silver penciled rock pullet. Any preference on what I should go with? Don't really care about the eggs, just looking for an overall good, and very friendly, chicken.

I would get both. I haven't had a pencilled rock but I really did enjoy my gentle giant brahma gals.

Have you heard anything about the rocks? I probably will go with both. It'll be like a chicken-themed David and Goliath story in my coop.

I haven't. I would think they would be a lot like the other rock varieties though. Outgoing, active, friendly.....that sort of thing.

I just put 2:2 together and realized a barred rock is in that "rock" family. That took me a while lol.

That would make my order at 12, and I think that would be good to avoid the losses that could occur. This is a replacement order for my March 29th order, where 10/12 of my chicks were DOA.
