First time chick raiser here.
I have two 3 weeks old New Hampshire Red chicks.
I am wondering if the one on the right is a rooster.
Its comb is a bit taller than the other one and has extended more to the top of head.
I can definitely see the other one has much smaller comb.
Would this comb pattern indicate anything about their sex or is it too early to say?

Thanks!!!

It may be a cockerel, but its still too early to know for sure.

I agree, but I think the one on the right is a hen and the one on the left a rooster.

I have had females develop their combs are different rates, some faster than others so a fast growing comb does not always mean you have a boy.Can you see any waddles yet? If so, are they red? My Golden Laced Cochin Bantam was obviously a Roo at 2.5 weeks. He had bright red waddles forming already at that age. Here's a photo for reference.

Well, it was too ealry to say.
Both turned out to be girls and one started to lay eggs.

Good for you! Thanks for the update, it's always nice to see how things turned out.
