Hey everyone! So we have never owned chickens before but my daughter hatched baby chicks at school and she brought one home. Which lead to us to getting 9 buff Orpington chicks so it wouldn’t be alone. We have no clue what kind of chicken/rooster my daughters chick is but they are all around 18wks old if you are able to tell by the picture.

It's a male.

Thanks for the help. I’m sure my daughter will believe me now that “Patricia” is actually a “Patrick” haha

How old is your daughter? A child under the age of 5 can be very vulnerable and at eye level to an attacking rooster. Often times inexperienced people do not pick up on the clues that a rooster is getting aggressive, mistaking his aggressive signs for friendliness. Roosters will generally attack children first.

Inexperienced people can vastly underestimate how violent an attack can be. If she is under 6, I hope you will re home him ASAP.
