I would suggest some kind of cover for the brooder. Once those chicks get comfortable in the new brooder, they do everything in their power to jump out

Seriously though, I use an old window screen to cover my brooder. Keeps chicks in, cats out, and I can still see the chicks to make sure they are OK.

Some coffee, some orange juice, some snacks, some covers for those cold times, A CAMERA to post pics on the BYC and finally if you deem it so a video camera just for those "family memories".
