Hello All!
I was hoping to confirm my suspicion around the sex of one of my Silkies. I recently got these two Silkies and I'm pretty sure I've got two roosters. They're about 20 weeks-ish, I think, and while I'm certain the black one is a rooster I'm unsure about the white one. I heard one of them crow for the first time this morning. The black one has some shiny green feathers, streamers, the mulberry wattle that I've heard about, and a nub that could be the start of a spur. The white one is harder to identify based on feathers, but it does have a nub that could be a spur, and its legs seem very large to me. This is my first time with Silkies and I live in an area where I can't have roosters. I ask because if one is a hen I'd like to re-home the two together as a pair. If they're both roosters I'm assuming I'd re-home them separately. I have an inkling that the white one is a rooster because I've seen him/her ruffle its neck feathers, get puffed up, and quickly flutter toward the black one, but again, I'm a novice. I've attached some pictures and I would very much appreciate your thoughts/suggestions whenever you have a chance! Thank you, BYC!
