sad for your loss![]()
I'm sorry to hear that you lost her!I lost mine too.
I am so sorry that you lost her, but where she was having a time swallowing the liquid, it sounded to me like something bad was happening with her. I never get attached to babies I know how quickly they can go. The more vocal they are the more I have noticed that they are usually the ones that pass on. I had 3 die last year after hatching all were very vocal for a few days. We tried everything possible with one of my Delawares to keep it alive, and nothing helped.
Is it possible to not get attached? For me, it is doable.. I just don't know about the little chicks though- not when they are just beginning life. It's always sad to lose a baby chick! My little one passed away on Monday. It looks like she passed away peacefully in her sleep. It was easier for me that way, so I am really glad that it was so peaceful. She got to where she would just sit there and peep, almost like she was crying. I would keep running in there thinking that there was something wrong, but every time, it was just her, sitting there peeping. She would quiet down if I left her alone for a while, but a lot of times I would feel sorry for her, so I would hold her. She'd fall asleep easy and just snooze a lot. I knew that there was something up with her because she slept far too much for a baby chick and also, she was so much tinier than the others. It was like she wasn't even growing at all!![]()
But now, they don't have to suffer anymore with whatever handicaps they would have trying to grow up.
