So out of the 11 eggs that went into lock-down I have 8 in the brooder right now. The ones in the brooder are 1 blue laced red wyandotte, 2 golden polish, 2 bc marans, 2 blue splash marans, and 1 silver laced wyandotte. So nothing happened until day 21. To tell you the truth I did not think anyone was going to hatch. There was no chirping or egg rocking. I was checking the eggs at least every hour. This is my first hatch and I was expecting possible disappointment. So I was walking through the house and I heard chirping. I ran in there to find a golden polish climbing around the other eggs and the other polish was pipping. I was so excited and worst of all I had to go to work. I guess it is good I had to go because it does take quite a while for everyone to hatch. When I got home the other polish had hatched and there was pips on a lot more eggs. I watched the silver wyandotte hatch and one black copper. It was so amazing. I am hatching in a Brinsea 20 eco and it was very crowded in there. It is so hard to not open the incubator.

8 of the 11 eggs had hatched yesterday and one more was zipping when I went to work again. Getting home from work the egg seemed to be in the same position it was 10 hours earlier. I remembered reading a post about them taking sometimes 14 hours to hatch. you could see the chic's fuzz sticking out of the egg and a little movement. I became concerned because the polish had hatched over 30 hours ago and all the other chicks were dry. A few of the chicks started pecking at the slow hatcher. I decided to take them out. I got the shower going and warmed up the room to pull everyone out. When I pulled out the chicks I decided to help my egg that seemed to stop hatching. I was so careful I didn't take the chick out of the egg I just finished the zip around. It was chirping during this and I was so afraid of making a mistake. So now my chick a blue orpington has hatched and he is a big one. I still have my orp in the incubator to dry he does seem a bit weak so I hope he makes it.fl I am not putting him with the other chicks until he runs around like the rest of them. I still have 2 eggs left in the incubator with the orp. I don't see any pips and this is day 23. :(sad The two eggs left are a buff brahma and an easter egger. How much longer should I give these two eggs?

Should I try and help the last two? I still see no pips and I might just be imagining it but I think I have seen the buff brahma rock. I remember reading somewhere that ee eggs are extra thick. When I candled just before lock-down the eggs looked good. I would love any advice thank you. All in all I am happy to have healthy looking chicks in the brooder and I hope my little orp makes it. I can't wait to get more eggs to hatch. Good luck to all those

You can always candle to see if they have internally pipped and/or are moving around in there.

Thank you for responding. I decided to open the eggs and I found developed chicks

but there was a lot of liquid. I am not sure what this means. I will just concentrate on my live ones now and I look forward to my next hatch.

i set 12 & 7 hatched all by themselves..the other 5 one had a pip ....i waited till next day & checked on them again. good thing i did it was shrink wraped bad. i had to run it under the water 2 get it out. the other 3 died a day or so b4 cause their yolk wasnt asorbed , the other one died either hatch day or day after . so im glad i could atleast get one of em out . everyone is doing great!!! now i have 8 healthy babies
