Do I need to add Oyster shells?

i've got a container in their coop with oyster shells, free choice. they don't cost that much, and they don't go through that much of it, anyway. as long as you keep them dry and clean (ie, inside out of the dirt and rain/puddles), they'll last you a while. also, being inside the coop, they don't scratch them out of the container (at least, my don't), wasting them
