??? Do I Remove Chick From Egg Or Not, UPDATED PICTURES ???

Hi,

My hen hatched three chicks and left forth egg, so my husband put it in the laundry room for a day and

a half. And then after work he said he was going to get rid of the egg. Well, I told him to crack

it open to see if it was still alive. It was a live. I panicked and took the whole shell off.

Well I freaked because everyone said, never take the shell off. But what could I do now.

So I put the chick between a heating pad and took a Q- tip and periodically with warm water and

swabed it off. Slowly it fluffed up, but could not stand. but after a day and a half It was doing really well

so I took it out to my hen lucy. And it did just fine. That was a year ago. He is now the most beautifull

R.I.R Rooster you ever saw. And he's even bigger than his brother. Also while I had him in the heating

pad, I fed him with an eyedropper with cooked egg yolk and milk. ( warmed ). Well anyway good luck.

Thank you everyone! Here's an update on my little bouncing egg chick.

It is the loudest one of the bunch LMAO!!!!

He is walking now and all seems fine. When I got home from work it was bathing in the small half full Glade container I used to bring up the humidity in the incubator. The last one hatched about 10 minutes ago. The other 3 did not hatch

I really wanted them too but 2 were only half developed and the third died in the egg after it started pipping. Look like it got left over yolk stuff over the pip hole and he did not make it, maybe if I had dropped him he might have

Thanks everyone. I do have a question. I have 5 chicks hatch and 3 of them cannot straighten out his/her toes so they are having a hard time walking. Does anyone know why? I am at a loss that 3 of the eggs hatched and the chicks are crippled

One has already died because it got out from under the light and got stuck behind the food tray and I found him dead

small piece of light weight cardboard taped with toes in the position you want them... should only need to be done for a few days.
this is only one of many that shows this if you do a search on BYC for curled toes. good luck!
