Boy this thread is turning into a "Name That Coffee Stand" game. The puns are terrible!

There ought to be some sort of penalty for Roo-dolph Valentino. We should be pun-ished.

Wednesday update:

I will write this after I stop laughing.....ok, now, here's what's been happening:

I have given my permission for him to spend the night on Monday and Tuesday. But, just before dusk, while my girls were going to bed, he started crowing AND going home.
Opposite direction from my coop and pen. I yelled "Hey Mister, where do you think you are going?" and I swear that he stopped, looked at me, turned around and hop/ran/flew back
up the hill and into the coop. Two nights in a row I have called out to him and he has come back to the girls.

Tuesday morning, I let everyone out and the girls started down the hill to a favorite spot near the orchard. He followed them down and after an hour or so,
I heard him crowing and making noises. I went to investigate and saw him leading the girls up from the orchard back to the coop.

This morning, after being let out, the girls fooled him and 1/2 went down to the orchard and the other 1/2 up the hill to sun and scratch.
He ran/hop/flew from the orchard to the hill, back and forth, back and forth. He was clearly not happy that his flock was split. I called them all
together (my girls come when they are called) gave them a treat and they have settled down for the afternoon heat and nap time.

I am so happy that this is going so well. Tonight, well after dark, I will enter the coop and pick him up. Good idea? Bad idea?
What do I need to know about sleepy roosters? He is sleeping on top of the nesting boxes with Mary Alice, Mary Grace and Mary Helen.

that pic of him leading the troops home is SERIOUSLY adorable. and i love that he ran back and forth checking up on everyone. that's a good little man chicken!

sleepy roos are usually easier to pick up, so long as he doesn't mistake you for a predator and try to rip you to shreds. i'd suggest long sleeves and don't let him near your face.
